hi,
i am trying to profile an ocaml native program on os x. i compiled with
the "profile" tag using ocamlbuild, by putting <*>: profile into my
_tags file. i then use Instruments to sample the running program.
i get not a lot of useful information: except to some function names
like caml_gall_gc and others which i assume to be external functions, i
only get symbols of the format .L??? where ? is a digit.
is there any way to make ocaml embed symbol names that are usable on os
x? or is there another way to profile (except 'poor man' - i've tried
that but it did not give good clues)? (instruments is apparently based
on dtrace which is also available on the command line)
thanks!
