Hello,
New version of llpp is now available (tagged v11) at
http://repo.or.cz/w/llpp.git
Blurb:
llpp a graphical PDF viewer which aims to superficially resemble
less(1)
Changes:
* Removed dependency on GLUT
(consequently native Windows and OS X support is also gone)
(There's a win32 a binary, built just before GLUT removal at:
http://boblycat.org/~malc/llpp.zip - 3857425 bytes)
* User modifiable key mappings
* Keyboard link navigation
* Probably more, since:
llpp$ git diff --stat v10..v11 | tail -1
14 files changed, 4203 insertions(+), 1461 deletions(-)
(That said: keysym2ucs.c | 849 +++++++++++++++++++
IOW 849 added lines is keysym to unicode conversion code by by Markus G. Kuhn)
How to build/run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xtIqD_mHRw
To run it one must have GLX capable X server, chances are good that if
the video card in ones machine is less than 10 years old things will run.
Known to run with:
RV280 (aka Radeon 9200) Mesa/linux/ppc
RV730 (aka Radeon HD 4650) Mesa/freebsd/x86[_64?]
???? (aka ???) Mesa/x86[_64?] [1]
NV94 (aka GeForce 9600 GT) nouveau (Gallium 0.4 on NV94)/Mesa/x86_64 [2]
binary blob by NVidia
(FWIW the card in this machine (rv280) is more than ten years old)
[1] 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
[2] Caveat emptor: with nouveau when window manager resizes windows opaquely
things might get garbled (same thing happens with GLUT based version too)
Workarounds:
a. Instruct the WM to not do opaque resizes
b. LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRET=1 llpp [args]
c.

A writeup would be more impressive.

It would be more interesting whether it works with normal office-type
graphics, e.g. integrated Intel cards with only limited hardware
acceleration. Just wanted to give it a try on my laptop, but building
llpp seems to be non-trivial.

Recent intel "cards" are actually pretty powerful; like for AMD Fusion
(recent CPU + GPU on the same die), you can play actual 3D games with
them.

Not sure what you mean by that.

It would be, but i don't have normal office-type graphics, what i have
is aforementioned 10+ years old radeon in a powerpc macmini and NV94 in
the rarely used x86_64 box, the ???? (aka ???) is an Intel card (as
stated bellow) from a friends laptop. Building is very easy actually if
you just do 'sh buildall.sh', you will need OCaml,GCC,sh,wget and unzip.

I have an "old" (4 years) dell laptop with simple intel card, and it
works very well.
I must say the compilation is very easy: I just had to call "buildall"
very nice work !
