the distribution of pcre include it's own pcre. You should use the one
installed by debian.
I successfully build ocaml-pcre on debian with shared suport by
- installing the libpcre3-dev package
- modifying one of the pcre-OCaml/Makefile :
replacing
shared: byte-code-nolink native-code-nolink
ocamlmklib -o pcre pcre.cmo pcre.cmx pcre_intf.o \
-L../pcre-C/.libs -lpcre -rpath $(OCAML_LIB_INSTALL)
cp ../pcre-C/.libs/libpcre.a .
ar r libpcre.a pcre_intf.o
ranlib libpcre.a
by
shared: byte-code-nolink native-code-nolink
ocamlmklib -o pcre pcre.cmo pcre.cmx pcre_intf.o \
-lpcre -rpath $(OCAML_LIB_INSTALL)
it compile. By the way the pcre library in debian is not the same than
the pcre-C in pcre-ocaml, so there may be problems, and I have do no
further test.
