Hi Julia,

This is a long shot, but let's see if this is the Skylake/Kaby Lake
processor bug. Could you follow the instructions at the beginning of
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2017/06/msg00308.html
and tell us if you have one of the buggy processors?
