Sure.
However, OpenGL has two major advantages over Direct3D even if you
don't consider how easy it is to use or how efficient it is:
1. It is not controlled by a single company (especially not a
convicted predatory monopolist). A sub-point of this is that
many implementations are available for many different platforms.
2. O'Caml bindings are already available for OpenGL.
