Here is a small contribution for the Objective-Caml programmers: a
long time ago, I wrote a client library for the X window system
(similar to the C Xlib). I have used this library to program a small 
demo editor with some Emacs key bindings. 

Both contributions are available in the xlib package at 
http://pauillac.inria.fr/~lefessan/src/xlib-001.tar.gz
