I think it would be wonderful if somebody (e.g. you) wanted to take this
on.

I can only think of one or two such people, so I hope they're in the mood
for some serious reading... :-)
In general, though, this plan sounds workable to me.

O'Reilly has been extremely reasonable about such matters. I can put you
in touch with the appropriate editor there.
