Subject: [Caml-list] Let-in vs beta-redex
Date: Mon, 1 Sep 2003 18:15:54 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <000e01c370a4$592d6300$3bef4dd5@ppp> (raw)
Hi,
Is let-in more efficient than beta-redex or are they computationally
equivalent? Is let-in a syntax-sugar of beta-redex?
E.g.
let x = sin 2. in x *. x *. x;;
(fun x -> x *. x *. x) (sin 2.);;
Thank You in advance,
Kindest Regards,
Lukasz
